GRIMM announces expansions in Amsterdam and London, and inaugurates a residency programme in France

In its 20th anniversary year, GRIMM is pleased to announce its expansion to a new gallery space in Amsterdam, opening in September 2026. The new gallery will be situated on the ground floor of a 17th-century canal building in the historic city centre and serve as GRIMM’s principal gallery in Amsterdam, alongside its locations in New York and London.

The Amsterdam expansion follows the recent move of GRIMM’s London gallery to Duke Street, St James’s, in November 2025, and coincides with the summer 2026 launch of a new residency programme at the recently acquired Château Val Croissant in the heart of the Provence, France. The 18th-century château will offer studio spaces for up to five artists and their families, building upon the gallery’s artist-driven ethos.

Jorg Grimm, founder, said: “We are excited to offer our artists a new and larger exhibition space in Amsterdam – the city where the gallery was founded a little over 20 years ago – and we are proud of our recent move to Duke Street, St James’s. Following the gallery’s establishment in London in 2022, this move is a logical progression, and in line with the gallery’s goal: to provide the best possible platform for our artists, many of whom are based in the UK. The gallery prides itself on its active management of all aspects of an artist's career, the foundation upon which the gallery has been built. Our programme continues to grow and we are very excited to be able to provide these spaces for our artists in London and Amsterdam, in addition to our New York location.”

Amsterdam’s inaugural exhibition will be by Robert Zandvliet and include new paintings from his Paradaidha series, as well as works from his recent institutional solo shows at Kunsthalle Darmstadt (DE) and Franz Gertsch Museum in Burgdorf (CH). Forthcoming exhibitions will include Charles Avery (9 October – 14 November 2026) and Saskia Noor van Imhoff (opening 19 November 2026).

London’s upcoming exhibition programme includes solo shows by Jonathan Wateridge (3 September – 10 October 2026), which will be accompanied by a new publication in the gallery series, and Rosalind Nashashibi (16 October – 21 November 2026), following on the heels of her museum exhibitions at KM21 in The Hague (NL) (29 November 2025 – 17 May 2026), Z33 in Hasselt (BE) (29 March – 23 August 2026), and Artium Museoa in Vitoria-Gasteiz (ES) (12 June – 1 November 2026).

The forthcoming residency programme at Château Val Croissant in France will be unique for its ‘come and go’ offering. Artists and their families will be invited to return over the course of many years to a home away from home to create and spend time outside of the studio.

Grimm added: “It is important to continue to create new opportunities for our artists. Our residency programme has no time constraints; artists may come and go as they please, if space allows, and gallery artists may propose others to join them. There will also be space for writers, curators and other guests to visit. It’s a place for the community, nestled in an area that is brimming with cultural activity.”
