GRIMM is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of Hettie Inniss's Beyond (2026) by the David and Indrė Roberts Collection, London (UK). Next year, Inniss will join the The Roberts Institute of Art (UK) residency program.
Responding to multisensory influences and bodily experiences, Hettie Inniss' work captures and preserves moments inflected by scent, light, sound and memory. Inniss' practice questions the stability of self. Her distinctive canvases seek to create spaces with their own physics, their own truths and their own multidimensional perspectives. Her vibrant colour palette allows an articulation of memory and the act of remembering – capturing the afterburn of an image or the light seen behind closed eyes with a warmth and physicality that brings a bodily presence into her canvases.
