El Espacio 23’s residency program invites artists and curators to spend dedicated time in Miami developing their practice and research in dialogue with the institution’s exhibition program, the Jorge M. Pérez Collection, and the broader cultural landscape of the city. Residents are selected by EE23’s curatorial team, with each residency shaped around the artist or curator and their work.
Claudia Martínez Garay will join the residency program in November 2026, it takes place in conjunction with her participation in El Espacio 23’s seventh exhibition, Nothing Is Linear: Relations Across Latin America and Its Diasporas.
Opening to the public on November 19, Nothing Is Linear brings together artists rooted in Latin America, shaped by its diaspora across the United States and beyond, or drawn from farther afield by the region’s pull. Together, their work presents Latin America not as a single, fixed narrative, but as a constellation of histories, experiences, and forms of belonging.
