GRIMM gallery is proud to announce the acquisition of a large part of the Estate of Ger van Elk (1941-2014) by Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Centraal Museum and Kröller-Müller Museum, ensuring the works will remain accessible to future generations.
Van Elk was one of the most important conceptual artists of his generation. His oeuvre plays with art history, visual traditions and critiques of ‘high art’.
The Kröller-Müller Museum is currently working towards a large-scale retrospective exhibition.
With thanks to the Hartwig Foundation and the Rembrandt Association (in particular its Titus Fund, its Robert and Marijcke Willink-de Langen Fund, and its Post-War and Contemporary Art Fund) for making the acquisitions possible.
