GRIMM is delighted to announce the recent acquisition of Sensory Play (2025) by Caroline Walker to The Hepworth Wakefield (UK).
Selected from her major institutional solo exhibition Caroline Walker: Mothering at The Hepworth Wakefield (UK) earlier this year. The show features paintings made over the last five years alongside a new series of works exploring themes of motherhood and early-years care.
Acclaimed for her exploration of themes of motherhood, detailed in moments of childcare, domestic routine and the medical rigmarole of modern birth. Walker's newly commissioned series reflects her careful attention to colours, textures and tones. In these domesticated scenes, Walker invites us to contemplate a different view of maternal connection, familial nurture and the legacy of care that ties itself to modern motherhood.
The exhibition is currently on view at Pallant House Gallery (UK) until April 26, 2026 and will travel to Newlyn Art Gallery and The Exchange, Penzance (UK), from May 23 – November 7, 2026.
