Caroline Walker is included in group exhibition Good Mom/Bad Mom – Unraveling the Mother Myth at Centraal Museum, Utrecht (NL), currently on view from March 28 – September 14, 2025.
Good Mom/Bad Mom is an exhibition exploring motherhood and its multitudes. A new generation of artists present works reflecting on motherhood and the myths surrounding it, from ancient history to present day. The exhibition deconstructs the cliché of the 'good mother' and its variables by presenting perspectives and themes that have long been overlooked. Invoking discussions surrounding the desire for children, emancipation, self-determination, abortion and roles beyond biological motherhood. Good Mom/Bad Mom serves to widen the capillaries of our maternal knowledge and create a new space for a more emancipated parenthood.
The exhibition is curated by Heske ten Cate and Laurie Cluitmans.
