GRIMM is pleased to announce the acquisition of Caroline Walker's "Ultrasound" (2021) by the Tate (UK).
Part of a series of artworks produced by the artist after a residency at the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson maternity wing at University College Hospital (UCLH) in 2021. "Ultrasound" (2021) is one of many large-scale canvases produced by Walker, capturing midwives, doctors, cleaners and mothers in their immediate surroundings. The work, first exhibited at her solo exhibition Birth Reflections at Fitzrovia Chapel, London (UK) in 2022, was partly inspired by a series of four paintings by Frederick Cayley Robinson The Acts of Mercy.
