The two paintings, Alvarito and Silver Rain depict mannequins that have been used for police “safety workshops” in Peruvian schools to inform young students about the dangers of using illegal fireworks in the New Year. During these workshops the policemen would fire several explosives in front of children, emphasizing on the dismembered mannequins as the lesson or moral of the story. One of the mannequins was named Alvarito given by the police; Silver Rain is a street name for one of the illegal fireworks.
