Gert & Uwe Tobias: Solo exhibition

GRIMM is proud to announce the first gallery solo exhibition in the Netherlands by Gert and Uwe Tobias.

The work of Gert and Uwe Tobias (1973, Brasov, Romania) is strongly marked by a newly invented symbolist style that evokes links to myths, tales, and folklore. The artists, who have been working together ever since the completion of their studies at the Braunschweig University of Fine Arts in 2002, question and examine the clichés of (folk) art through the use of traditional techniques as woodblock printing. They draw upon art historical elements expressed in a modern language that references movements such as Modernism and Russian Constructivism.
