GRIMM is proud to participate in this year’s edition of Frieze Sculpture with Letha Wilson (B. 1976 in Honolulu, US), who will be presenting two new large scale site-specific sculptures at Rockefeller Center, which will be on display from July 1st-September 9th, 2020. Two new sculptures depict botanical motifs combined with rock and mineral formations, recalling the Rockefeller Center’s history as the site of the Elgin Botanic Garden. The combination of imagery with patinated Corten steel contrast and unite the city plaza with the natural world. Wilson’s work expands the field of photography into the three-dimensional form of sculptural work using a range of materials and printing techniques. Cut- outs allow viewpoints through the work to different surfaces of the sculpture, the surrounding area, and other viewers.
