Nächtliches Konzert

2012

The works of Gregor Hildebrandt and Jorinde Voigt originate in the fascination for an observation of the world around us and the way in which image and sound affects us through our senses. Under the title ' Nächtliches Konzert ' ( Night Concert), after a recent work by Jorinde Voigt, both artists present a cross section of their works. In the works on show we recognise elements from daily life: pop music, environmental sounds, a classic film or the colour of the horizon.

Gregor Hildebrandt

2009

The catalogue gives an overview of Gregor Hildebrandt’s use of audio cassette and video tape which is characteristic of his work. The artist is not only interested in the specific materiality, but also in the texture of the audiotape as a storage medium for music. Including the multifaceted cosmos of Hildebrandt’s references to music, film, literature and the history of art, his work appears as a complex collage of figurative associations. In this process, he connects aspects of Conceptual and Minimalist Art with personal life and the experience of pop culture.
